April 2019 - update on the body

Dan and Tony discussing the car.  Notice, in the rear deck, the reflection of the ceiling light is fuzzy.  This is the light orange peel in the paint that we left to mimic factory production.

The red dash really makes the black pop.

April 2019 update on the interior

The new dash came out really well.  In particular the vinyl and the fitting along the lower windshield.

We got a more customer cut of the carpet to ensure a better fit.  In addition, we had it stitched in white rather than the typical red thread used in reproductions.

Tony was testing out the functioning and feel of the controls.

I was taking a few shots under the dash, but took this one of the split window.

This is the original head liner as the reproductions are not of best quality, We painted red dye on this earlier this week.  It came out very well.

Here, Dan was showing me how to properly install a carpet to insure a tight fit.

You can partially see the Z06 writing behind the radio.

Getting the vinyl to fit tight agains the dash was incredibly difficult, but Dan was able to get this installed perfectly.

This is the rubber on top of the door on the body.  We decided to go with NOS here as the repro's look too perfect as compared to the NOS one shown here.

We templated the red paint coverage here based on an original, unrestored Z06 with 5,000 miles on it.

Assembly of the chassis

We started on the chassis.  Here Dan is installing the fuel line.

Brake line in the rear is installed.  Notice the original green clip with the Anchor symbol.  The brass brake fittings are also original.
