The Restoration of a 1963 Black/Red Corvette Z06 Coupe

This blog is about a 1963 Split Window Corvette, Z06, that I restored at Tony's Corvette Shop in MD from Dec 2017 to Jun 2019. We restored the car to its original condition on the day it was born in June 1963. We know of only 5 Z06 cars with the Black/Red combination. The aim of this blog is to document the progress of restoration and to educate about 1963 Z06's. Questions/if you know of another Black/Red Z06 car, email me at chrismoore@gmail.com or call 415-939-6581.

Prepping for painting the engine compartment

Prepping the Z06 to paint the engine compartment, hood, and the undercoating on the inner fenders. We elected to paint the engine compartment with the hood on, just as they did in the factory.
