On the path to bolting the body on

It's May 2 and our goal is to get the body on the car and to start the car by May 8.  Today I'm putting on the original markings on the components noted below.

Yellow and sometimes white paint was used as a marker around the transaxle fill plug.  Likely to indicate that the gear oil was filled.

Yellow marker was placed at the end of each half-shaft, possibly to indicate that the bolts were tightened.

Another yellow stripe on the drive shaft coupler and a blue stripe on the trans axel.

Yellow dot on the right top side of the trans axel and the number 35 on the left.

Hard to see, but white markings on the inside of the half-shaft attachment to the trans axel.

Two green stripes on the rear of the drive shaft.

For the front markings, some of the colors are different for a Z06 from a non-Z06 '63 Corvette.  This is likely due to the brakes being installed the opposite from a regular 1963.  This photo above is from a low mileage unrestored car with green on the right front frame.  There were also green dots on the brakes on the right side as well.  Blue was denoted on the left.  Likely to help with assembly.

This is the left side of the frame...blue marking dots were on the left front.

The blue dot on the spindle shaft on the left front, matched the blue on the frame.  The green dot on the knuckle was the same color used on all 1963 cars.

This is the right side.  The spindle had a green on the right side (again, this is opposite non-Z06 cars) and the knuckle had a green marker).

The high performance shocks had blue markers on the top hat and on the lower mount.

Lower high performance shock.

Left side brake line connector with the original "W" stamp.

Brake line connector on the frame under the master cylinder..."W" indicates an original Z06 connector.

One more view of the front brake line connector.
