The Restoration of a 1963 Black/Red Corvette Z06 Coupe

This blog is about a 1963 Split Window Corvette, Z06, that I restored at Tony's Corvette Shop in MD from Dec 2017 to Jun 2019. We restored the car to its original condition on the day it was born in June 1963. We know of only 5 Z06 cars with the Black/Red combination. The aim of this blog is to document the progress of restoration and to educate about 1963 Z06's. Chassis - Completing the brakes, rear spring, brake connections and fuel sending unit

As we rebuilt the car, we referred to a data base of photo's of over 50 Z06 cars that Tony has collected over the years. We used these photo's, in particular of unrestored, low mileage cars with VIN's ver close to my car's VIN to view the parts installed, how they were painted, what nuts and bolts were used and even how cotter pins were installed straight from the factory.
